Cargo and logistics company Trimuda Nuansa Citra set the offering price for its shares at IDR 150 a piece in the initial public offering (IPO) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Considering the company offers 200 million shares to the public, it should raise IDR 30 billion (approx. USD $2.1 million) through the corporate move.
On Friday (22/06) the South Jakarta District Court sentenced Aman Abdurrahman to death as he has been found guilty of masterminding terrorist attacks in Indonesia, including the Thamrin (Central Jakarta) suicide bombings and shootings in early 2016 as well as the Kampung Melayu bombing in East Jakarta in 2017. Abdurrahman is the leader of the Jamaah Anshar Daulah (JAD), one of the local terrorist networks that is affiliated with Islamic State (IS).
The number of traffic accidents and casualties declined drastically during this year's Eid al-Fitr holiday, the celebrations that mark the end of the Ramadan month. Traditionally, tens of millions of people travel from the urban areas back to their places of origin to spend a couple of days with their families (a tradition known as mudik in Indonesia). This exodus at the start of the holiday (and inflow at the end of the holiday) usually leads to many casualties, primarily because people become tired after driving for many hours.
It is feared that at least 192 people have drowned when a ferry sank in Lake Toba in North Sumatra on Monday (18/06). Based on the latest data from Indonesia's National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), 192 people are now still missing, while three bodies have been recovered and 18 people have been rescued. It is possible that the list of missing people will rise further in the days ahead.
