• Update Indonesian Stocks: Jakarta Composite Index Rises Further

    Indonesia's benchmark Jakarta Composite Index continues its run in record high territory on Monday (06/11). While Asian stocks are mixed, overall, this morning, the Jakarta Composite Index is carefully climbing in green territory. It is interesting to note that, recently, the benchmark index is not only being pushed higher by the large-cap blue chip stocks, but also by mid-cap and small-cap stocks.

  • Biodiesel Consumption in Indonesia to Fall in Second Half 2017

    Based on statements from a government agency, Indonesia's biodiesel consumption is set to decline in the second half of 2017 due to some "technical issues". While in the first six months of 2017 biodiesel consumption in Indonesia reached 1.67 million kiloliters, this figure is expected to fall to 0.86 million kiloliters in the second half of the year, hence resulting in an estimated total of 2.53 million kiloliters in full-year 2017.

  • Consumer Price Index Indonesia: Further Easing Inflation in October

    Indonesian inflation accelerated by a modest 0.01 percent month-on-month (m/m) in October 2017, considerably lower than the average monthly October inflation rate in recent years. Low October 2017 inflation primarily comes on the back of stable commodity prices. In fact, in terms of food prices, there actually occurred deflation in Southeast Asia's largest economy.
