Indonesian police informed that there were less traffic accidents during this year's Idul Fitri exodus compared to preceding years. Idul Fitri, a national week-long holiday, marks the end of the Islamic fasting month (Ramadan) and is a big happening in Indonesia. Ahead of Idul Fitri millions of workers who live in the cities travel to their places of origin to spend some days with their families. Locally, this tradition is known as "mudik" ("going home").

After the week-long holiday Indonesian stocks made an impressive return on Monday (03/07). Indonesia's benchmark Jakarta Composite Index surged 1.38 percent to 5,910.24 points, another record high position, led by financial and telecommunication stocks. Investors were in the mood to buy Indonesian shares after the long holiday. Moreover, positive Chinese economic data and Indonesia's easing core inflation provided more reasons for investor appetite.

Adaro Logistics, a subsidiary of Indonesian coal mining company Adaro Energy, is expected to undertake an initial public offering (IPO) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2018. Garibaldi Thohir, President Director of Adaro Energy, is optimistic about the potential of publicly listing the unit in Indonesia as prospects for Indonesia's equity market are promising.
