    As the first quarter of 2014 ended last week, it is interesting to take a quick look at which countries were the most popular and unpopular investment targets of international investors in terms of stock trading. Indonesia has been 'hot' so far in 2014, with both its benchmark stock index and the rupiah strengthening considerably. Not far after Indonesia come the indices of Vietnam and Portugal. But the winners of the first quarter were Dubai and Bulgary where the benchmark stock indices gained 32.3 percent and 22.2 percent respectively in Q1-2014.

    Today (Saturday 05/04), Bill Gates, co-founder and chairman of the Microsoft Corporation as well as the world's richest person (with a net worth of USD $76 billion according to Forbes), arrives in Jakarta for the launch of the Indonesia Health Fund. This fund, which is established through a cooperation between the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Tahir Foundation, aims to combat diseases such as HIV-AIDS, tuberculosis, polio and malaria (both in Indonesia and outside Indonesia).

BISI International - together with its three subsidiaries Multi Sarana Indotani, Tanindo Subur Prima and Tanindo Intertraco - is the largest producer of hybrid seeds for corn, rice and horticulture in Indonesia.
