• Update on Floods in Jakarta: Water Subsiding but Risks Remain

    On Sunday (26/01), Indonesia's National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) reported that the floods in Jakarta have led to 23 casualties (due to drowning, electrocution or the impossibility for sick people to reach the hospital) in the last two weeks in Indonesia's capital city, while almost 28,000 people are still displaced from their homes. The good news, however, is that in many parts of Jakarta floodwaters have begun to subside since the end of last week although several neighborhoods remain flooded up to this day.

  • New Minimum Share Requirement and Listing Fee for Listed Companies

    The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) will increase the minimum ratio of shares that need to be listed on the IDX by a listed company. Through Regulatory No. I-A regarding the Listing of Shares & Equity Securities other than Shares Issued by Listed Companies (Peraturan Nomor I-A tentang Pencatatan Saham dan Efek Bersifat Ekuitas yang Diterbutkan oleh Perusahaan Tercatat), the minimum ratio of publicly issued shares is 7.5% of a company's total enlarged capital. If companies will not comply, they may face de-listing from the IDX.

  • Seven New Indonesian Companies Featured in the Pefindo25 Index

    Indonesian credit rating agency Pefindo (Pemeringkat Efek Indonesia) replaced seven stocks in its Pefindo25 Index for the period 1 February to 31 July 2014. The Pefindo25 Index, which is tracked by yahoo finance, represents stocks of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) - listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) - that possess good fundamental performances and liquidity. The composition of the index, which contains 25 stocks, is reviewed and revised two times per year.
