• Lion Air Boeing 737-800 Crashes into Sea Nearby Bali Runway

    A Lion Air airplane, with flight number JT 904, that flew from Bandung (West Java) to Bali crashed into the sea just a few dozen meters away from the runway at Bali's International I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport (which is located directly next to the sea) in Denpasar. Of the 101 passengers only one passenger is in critical condition, others have sustained minor injuries. According to sources, the aircraft did not touch the runway but completely overshot it.

  • Tender for Construction Terminal 2 and 3 of the Kalibaru New Priok Harbour

    PSA International (the Port of Singapore Authority) is one of the participants in the tender - organized by PT Pelindo II - for the construction of terminal two and three of the Kalibaru New Priok harbour in North Jakarta. According to the Director of Pelindo II, RJ Lino, there are 18 participants in the tender, of which the winner will probably be announced in September 2013. Companies can either opt to join the tender for the construction of both terminals, or, one of the two terminals.

    PT Semen Baturaja Tbk, a state-owned cement producer, will offer 20 to 35 percent of its equity to the public when it conducts its initial public offering (IPO) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in June or July 2013. Initially, the Indonesian cement company was planning to conduct the IPO in 2012 but disagreement within the House of Representatives (DPR) - the government institution that needs to approve the IPO - resulted in a temporary postponement.
