At least nine companies are ready to conduct an initial public offering (IPO) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in the next two months. Among these nine companies are: Megapower Makmur, Cikarang Listrindo, Duta Inti Daya, Sillo Maritime Perdana, Bank Ganesha and Graha Andrasentra Propertindo. So far this year only three companies have been added to the Indonesian bourse. Due to economic uncertainties in recent years (making investors cautious), few companies have been eager to list on the IDX since 2014.

Low-cost airline Indonesia AirAsia plans to conduct an initial public offering (IPO) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in late-2017. This IPO plan has been agreed upon by the management and shareholders of the company. AirAsia Chief Executive Officer Tony Fernandes said there are two main reasons why Indonesia AirAsia would like to become a listed company: (1) to improve transparency and corporate management, and (2) to allow Indonesian investors to join in on Indonesia AirAsia's profit and business growth.

Indonesia-based property developer HK Realtindo, subsidiary of state-owned firm Hutama Karya, plans to release a 30 percent stake through an initial public offering (IPO) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the fourth quarter of 2016. Funds generated through the IPO will be used for further business expansion. The company eyes 30 new projects in 2016, including the Trans Sumatra toll road. The company also plans to issue IDR 500 billion (approx. USD $36 million) in bonds and IDR 250 billion in medium term notes.

Bank Artos Indonesia became the first company to list on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2016. The Bandung-based private lender was warmly welcomed by investors. During its trading debut on Tuesday (12/01) the company's shares rose 31.1 percent. Through the initial public offering (IPO) Bank Artos Indonesia raised IDR 31.8 billion (approx. USD $2.3 million) by offering 241.3 million new shares, or 20 percent of the company's enlarged capital at IDR 132 per share.

Indonesian radio broadcasting company Mahaka Radio Integra, part of the Mahaka Group, plans to acquire one radio station in Jakarta as well as two new radio stations in Medan and Makassar in 2016. Through these acquisitions the company aims to control a 30-40 percent market share in the nation's radio industry by 2017. Today, Indonesian integrated fishery, marine product processing and cold storage company Dua Putra Utama Makmur will be listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), hence becoming the 13th company to have conducted an initial public offering (IPO) on the IDX this year.
