    According to data released by the Indonesian Finance Ministry, Indonesia collected 1.25 billion euro (approx. USD $1.4 billion) through the issuance of 10-year euro-denominated bonds, yielding at a discount of 3.555 percent, on Thursday (23/07). With incoming bids at 1.9 billion euros, it is clear that investor appetite for Indonesia’s euro-denominated bonds declined compared to the country’s first euro-denominated bond issuance in July 2014 (which was oversubscribed 6.7 times and could therefore carry a yield of 2.976 percent only).

    Indonesian stocks are expected to feel heavy downward pressure on Monday (29/06) due to stalled talks between debt-ridden Greece and its international creditors.     Contrary to the performance of most other Asian stock indices, Indonesia’s benchmark Jakarta Composite Index fell 0.52 percent to 4,959.25 points on Monday (22/06).   • Indonesian Rupiah Hovering Near 17-Year Low on Thursday

    As the Indonesian rupiah continued to depreciate on Thursday (04/06), touching a 17-year low, a central bank official tried to ease concerns by stating that Bank Indonesia is always in the foreign exchange and bond markets to monitor movements and ease volatility. On Thursday morning the bond yield, which has been rising since Friday (29/05), was 8.198 percent. Based on the Bloomberg Dollar Index, Indonesia's rupiah had depreciated 0.11 percent to IDR 13,245 by 11:10 am local Jakarta time.
