Indonesia's biggest taxi operator, the Blue Bird Group, is planning to conduct an initial public offering (IPO) in the fourth quarter of this year. The company expects to reap between USD $600 and $800 by selling 20 to 40 percent of the company's stock equity. If the company will indeed manage to meet this target, then the IPO of Blue Bird will be the largest since the publicly listing of Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur, which raised USD $696 million in October 2010. It has been reported that Credit Suisse, Rothschild and UBS will act as underwriters.

The company releases 2 billion shares with a nominal value of IDR 100 per share. Citilink Indonesia, the low budget carrier of national airline Garuda Indonesia, expects to transport around 7.8 million air passengers in 2013. This constitutes a sharp rise compared to last year's result of 3.8 million passengers. The airline, which handles 140 flights per day to 22 Indonesian cities, expects the increase to be in line with the growth of its armada to 29 aircrafts in 2013 (including 22 new Airbus A320 planes). These types of aircrafts are designed to serve short or middle-long distance flights.

Today, Statistics Indonesia released Indonesia's economic growth figure for the first quarter of 2013. Compared to Q1-2012, Indonesia's gross domestic product (GDP) grew 6.02 percent. This growth was supported by almost every sector except for Mining and Extracting, which fell 0.43 percent (YoY), indicating that natural resources are still not back on track. The largest contributor to Indonesia's Q1-2013 growth is Transportation and Communication, which grew 9.98 percent.

In the first quarter of 2013, Indonesia's manufacturing sector has received increasingly more investments compared to the same period last year. Express Transindo Utama (Express), the Indonesian taxi operator that is controlled by Peter Sondakh's Rajawali Corpora, has acquired an entire stake in Jakarta-based taxi operator Ekspres Mulia Kencana for IDR 67 billion (USD $6.87 million). This take over - which had been announced last year - will add 2,000 licensed taxi units to the company's current total taxi fleet size of about 8,000 taxis (which are primarily in operation in the Greater Jakarta area).

On Saturday, 01 April, 2017, the new regulations for ride-hailing apps in Indonesia came into effect, designed to protect consumers of these apps and support traditional transportation services such as taxi operators, minivans, buses and motorcycle taxis. The regulations include maximum and minimum tariffs for four-wheeled-vehicle rides that are booked through the online app, as well as a limit on the number of vehicles available. However, authorities will give time to these ride-hailing apps to adjust to the new regulations due to the "magnitude of the technical rules".

GrabCar and GrabBike have grown some 250 percent despite a 50 percent cut in its fare subsidy in this period. State-controlled construction company Adhi Karya's corporate earnings should rise in the years ahead on the back of the light rail transit (LRT) project that is expected to provide IDR 33 trillion (approx. USD $2.5 billion) worth of contracts for the construction company. Adhi Karya was appointed to construct the Greater Jakarta part of the LRT that will connect Jakarta with the satellite cities around the capital city.
