Sriwijaya Air, the third-largest airline in Indonesia, decided to postpone its initial public offering (IPO) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange - by one or two months - to April or May 2017 (initially the company targeted to conduct this corporate action in March 2017). Chandra Lie, President Director of Sriwijaya Air, said the airline needs more time to prepare the IPO. Lie added that it may also revise the number of shares that are offered to the public. Earlier, Sriwijaya Air planned to release 25 percent of its total outstanding capital stock.

When on Friday afternoon (30 December 2016) the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) closed its doors it effectively brought the year 2016 to an end in terms of stock trading on the local bourse. On Friday Indonesia's benchmark Jakarta Composite Index fell 0.11 percent to 5,296.71 points after two days of impressive gains. However, when looking at full-year 2016 the Jakarta Composite Index climbed 15.32 percent, hence being the second-best performing (national) benchmark stock index (after Thailand) in the Southeast Asian region in 2016.

Indonesian gold miner Agincourt Resources plans to conduct an initial public offering (IPO) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2017. The gold miner operates the Martabe Gold Mine in North Sumatra through a Contract of Work. Agincourt Resources is for 61.4 percent owned by Australia-based EMR Capital, a private equity manager that is specialized in mining resources and has deep linkages to Asian markets. Although the IDX refrained from mentioning names, it confirmed that at least one miner will IPO in Indonesia in 2017.

The company offered 427.6 million new shares, equivalent to 15 percent of the company's total share capital, to the public at a price of IDR 2,100 a piece, hence raising IDR 897.9 billion (approx. In the already busy initial public offering (IPO) month of May, two more companies were added to the Indonesia Stock Exchange on Wednesday (23/05): (1) Sarimelati Kencana, the operator of the Pizza Hut chain in Indonesia, and (2) Guna Timur Raya, an integrated logistics solutions provider.
