ITAS and ITK Online: New Online Reporting Requirement for Foreigners
Since February 1, 2016, the Directorate General of Immigration implemented a new requirement for applications of new work permits by expatriates in the certain Immigration Offices in Indonesia and for the extension of Indonesian visiting visas for foreigners, i.e. ITAS and ITK ONLINE Report. In the column of this week we explain the new online reporting requirements set by the Directorate General of Immigration.
ITAS ONLINE for New Work Permit
The new online reporting requirement of the Director General of Immigration requires expatriates to register or report his/hers ITAS ONLINE through the website http://izintinggal.imigrasi.go.id/IT-online/index.xhtml, after the expatriate collected the Limited Stay Visa (VTT) in the Indonesia Embassy and entered to Indonesia, and before submission of the Residence Permit Card (KITAS) application to the Immigration Office. The ITAS ONLINE report requires the expatriate to fill out the form in the website. Five to seven working days after submission of the report the expatriate will receive a notification from Directorate General Immigration through email. That notification is one of requirements to submit KITAS in the Immigration Office.
The new process of new work permit application is as follows:
1. Expatriate Placement Plan (RPTKA)
2. Working Permit (IMTA)
3. Telex Visa (Limited Stay Visa)
4. Collecting Limited Visa in the Indonesian Embassy abroad
5. Entering Indonesia
6. Reporting ITAS ONLINE
7. Limited Stay Permit (KITAS) and Multiple Exit and Re-Entry Permit (MERP)
8. Police Report (STM)
9. Residence Permit Report (SKTT/SKSKPS)
10. Existence Report (L/K)
Not all Immigration Offices have applied this system. At the moment this system is only applied in the immigration offices in West Jakarta, South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, East Jakarta, North Jakarta, Soekarno Hatta, Tangerang, Bogor, Depok, Karawang and Bekasi. Expatriates who apply for their KITAS outside above-mentioned Immigration Offices, are therefore not subject to the ITAS ONLINE Report.
ITK ONLINE for Extension of Visiting Visa
For extension Visa on Arrival (VOA) or Visiting Visa (VK 211) require ITK ONLINE Report before submission of the application for extension of the Visa on Arrival (VOA) or Visiting Visa (VK 211) to the Immigration Office. The processing time for ITK ONLINE is one to three working days. After receipt of the notification from the Directorate General of Immigration, the foreigner can submit the application for the extension of the Visa on Arrival (VOA) or Visiting Visa (VK 211) manually to the Immigration Office.
ITK ONLINE Report is not mandatory if the foreigner has a plan only to stay in one province in Indonesia. We advise the foreigner, however, to submit the application of extension through ITK ONLINE to avoid any trouble with Immigration.
