Currently, 56 percent of the Indonesian population lives in urban areas (at the start of the century - in 2000 - the figure was 42 percent). Although urbanization is - in theory - an engine of economic growth, Indonesia is not reaping the full benefits of urbanization.

  • So Far in 2017, 562 Foreigners Were Denied Entry into Indonesia

    A total of 562 foreigners have been refused entry into Indonesia at Indonesia's busiest airport, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (located just outside Jakarta) so far in 2017 (up to 18 December). Enang Syamsi, Head of Immigration Office (Kelas I Department) at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, said this is a lower figure compared to one year ago when 719 foreigners were denied access to Indonesia.
