Indonesia Investments Releases Its August 2024 Report: 'Political Year Part II'
On Friday 6 September 2024 Indonesia Investments released the August 2024 edition of its monthly report. This report discusses various economic, political and social topics that were relevant (to Indonesia) in the month of August 2024.
What do we discuss in this August 2024 edition?
Firstly, we zoom in on politics as there has been quite some activity in the political arena of Indonesia. And this has all to do with the approaching regional elections and the incoming cabinet under the leadership of Prabowo Subianto. What we cover includes demonstrations, the resignation of the Golkar Chairman, and the isolated position of the country's biggest political party (PDI-P).
Secondly, we zoom in on Indonesia's palm oil sector, discussing palm oil production (including biodiesel), consumption and export. Of course we also devote attention to the negative effects of palm oil plantations (as well as to the positive effects).
Thirdly, we have two in-depth articles on the topic of Indonesia's macroeconomy. One is a detailed analysis of Indonesia's Q2-2024 gross domestic product (GDP). The other involves a look into various macroeconomic indicators that give us insight into the performance of the Indonesian economy in the third quarter.
As usual, we also cover Indonesian inflation and the country's trade balance as well as an update of the international situation (with specific attention given to the Federal Reserve).
For a full list of topics discussed, you can take a look at the table of contents in the link below.
