IPO News Indonesia: Sky Energy Indonesia Makes Trading Debut
Indonesia-based solar panel manufacturer Sky Energy Indonesia became the fourth company to complete its initial public offering on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2018. Mirae Asset Sekuritas Indonesia was appointed as underwriter for the corporate move. About one hour after the opening of the market, Sky Energy Indonesia's shares had surged 50 percent, while the benchmark Jakarta Composite Index was in red territory.
Sky Energy Indonesia offers 203.26 million new shares, equivalent to 20 percent of the company's issued and paid up capital, to the public through the IPO. The company set its share price at IDR 400 a piece, hence it raised IDR 81.30 billion (approx. USD $5.9 million) by becoming a publicly-listed company.
Jackson Tandiono, President Director of Sky Energy Indonesia, informed that all the proceeds from the IPO will be allocated for the company's capital expenditure budget with as key aim boosting business expansion, including the expansion of production capacity through the purchase of new equipment and acquisition of new land. It is now the right timing for business expansion as Sky Energy Indonesia detects rising demand for the company's solar panels in foreign countries.
As of September 2017, Sky Energy Indonesia recorded profit of IDR 19.12 billion (approx. USD $1.4 million), while its revenue reached IDR 314.92 billion (approx. USD $23 million). Meanwhile, the company's total assets reached IDR 448.58 billion as of September 2017, up from IDR 350.61 billion in the same period one yeat earlier.
One day earlier (27/03), Jaya Trishindo had made its trading debut on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. After the company's shares had soared 70 percent on its first trading day, its shares continued to surge on Wednesday (28/03). By 10:00 am local Jakarta time, shares were up 34.76 percent.
Prior to the listing of Sky Energy Indonesia three other companies were added to the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2018: telecommunication construction services company LCK Global Kedaton, coal miner Borneo Olah Sarana Sukses, and helicopter transportation services company Jaya Trishindo.
