Over the past couple of months we have informed on the shortage of cooking oil on the Indonesian market, the subsequent inflationary pressures this shortage caused, and the policies that were imposed by the government to tackle this shortage. But, we did not devote an entire article to this topic.

In March 2022 Indonesia’s fully state-owned electricity company Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) announced that it decided to team up with the French Development Agency (Agence Française de Développement), which is a public financial institution that is focused on implementing policies defined by the French Government with the aim to fight poverty and promote sustainable development, to jointly develop a wind energy plant with a capacity of 200 megawatt (MW) in Pandeglang (in Banten). This project is called the Banten Wind Farm Power Development.
After months of significant Russian military build-up around the borders of Ukraine – and after Russia had officially recognised two self-proclaimed states in the Donbas region of Ukraine (namely Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics where there had emerged a war between the Ukrainian military and Russian-backed separatists) on 21 February 2022 – Russia launched an invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022.
