Bank Central Asia Now Largest Company on Indonesia Stock Exchange
Bank Central Asia (BCA) is now the the biggest company in terms of market capitalization on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). At the end of trading on Tuesday (09/05) the company's market cap stood at IDR 443.8 trillion (approx. USD $33.4 billion), replacing cigarette manufacturer HM Sampoerna with its market cap at IDR 440.8 trillion. BCA, part of the Djarum Group, is the second-largest bank in Indonesia in terms of assets.
The market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the company's total outstanding shares by the current market price per share. This figure provides valuable information about the size of a company.
So far in 2017 shares of Bank Central Asia have risen 15.56 percent to IDR 17,925 a piece, hence becoming the strongest-growing blue chip stock that is listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange and this also explains the company's rapidly rising market cap.
