Herbal Cosmetics Market of Indonesia Growing Sharply
Over the past five years the herbal cosmetics market in Indonesia has expanded rapidly. Therefore, domestic and foreign industry players are expected to boost investment in this sector.
Sholihin Sofyan, Chairman of the Indonesian Cosmetic Producers Association (PPA Kosmetika), said the Indonesian people are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of non-chemical basic materials inside cosmetic products. This rising awareness is the main reason why the domestic herbal cosmetics market of Indonesia is growing sharply.
In cooperation with Indonesia's Health Ministry, PPA Kosmetika has created a guide for investors who want to invest in Indonesia's herbal cosmetics sector, specifically regarding the type of raw materials and its effect on the consumer.
Growth of herbal cosmetics production in Indonesia was recorded at more than 30 percent year-on-year (y/y) in full-year 2016, reflecting sharply rising demand for these products.
