Indonesia Stock Exchange Imposes Freeze due to Technical Issues
Earlier this morning the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) released a statement that it could not deliver any data on Monday morning (10/07) due to technical issues. As usual, trading opens at 09:00 am local Jakarta time. However, the IDX website showed no activity of the Jakarta Composite Index. This was later attributed to a data-feed error.
Around 09:30 the IDX released a statement on its website saying it imposes a freeze on the trading of all equity and derivative securities between 09:34 am and 10:00 am local Jakarta time due to technical matters.
Starting from around 10:30 am the IDX website started updating the performance of Indonesian shares again, implying the technical errors are resolved. After an initial 0.19 percent rise, the Jakarta Composite Index then erased these gains a few minutes later, moving slightly into the red zone.
The IDX also announced that - besides the freeze up to 10:00 am - trading hours will not be adjusted today due to the error.
