IPO News: Charnic Capital Makes Trading Debut on Indonesia Stock Exchange
Jakarta-based investment company Charnic Capital made a strong trading debut on the Indonesia Stock Exchange on Wednesday (03/05). Due to the steep price rise of its shares (+70.0 percent) it triggered the auto-reject system, thus trading in the company's shares has been stopped and will resume tomorrow. Charnic Capital is the ninth company to have completed its initial public offering (IPO) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2018. There are now 574 listed companies in Indonesia.
Through the IPO, Charnic Capital offered 651.2 million shares to the public, equivalent to 30.72 percent of the company's total share base. Underwriter for the corporate move was Erdhika Elit Sekuritas.
Around 60 percent of the IPO proceeds will be used for Charnic Capital's investment activities, including purchasing stakes in public companies through the Indonesia Stock Exchange as well as in non-public companies. Meanwhile, 30 percent will be directed to the company's property investment budget. Charnic Capital plans to acquire property in the Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD) in South Jakarta. The remaining 10 percent is set to be used for working capital.
Charnic Capital is an investment holding company with a portfolio that consists of prime property and stakes in listed and non-listed companies in Indonesia.
So far in 2018 nine companies were added to the Indonesia Stock Exchange: telecommunication construction services company LCK Global Kedaton, coal miner Borneo Olah Sarana Sukses, helicopter transportation services company Jaya Trishindo, solar panel manufacturer Sky Energy Indonesia, trade, transportation and logistics services provider Indah Prakasa Sentosa, telecommunication support services company Gihon Telekomunikasi Indonesia, chemical manufacturing company Tridomain Performance Materials, property developer Dafam Property Indonesia, and investment company Charnic Capital.
