    Incumbent President Joko Widodo is expected to announce his running mate for the 2019 presidential election this evening (Thursday 09/08). All local media are gathered at Plataran Restaurant in Menteng (Central Jakarta) where the leaders of those political parties that support Widodo meet for an announcement. USD $359 million) worth of Islamic bonds (in Indonesian: Surat Berharga Syariah Negara, or SBSN) through an auction on Tuesday (07/08), well above the indicative target of IDR 4 trillion (approx. USD $278 million). Islamic bonds are also known as Sukuk.

  • MD Pictures Makes Trading Debut on the Indonesia Stock Exchange

    Indonesia-based film production house MD Pictures made its trading debut on Tuesday (07/08). It was a success as the company's shares soared nearly 50 percent, meaning the auto reject system kicked in. MD Pictures is the 31st company to have completed its initial public offering (IPO) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange so far in 2018. There are now 595 companies listed on the local bourse in Indonesia.
