Foreigners are not denied entry into the world's largest Archipelago for nothing, Syamsi continued. There are several reasons for the rejection of foreign visitors, such as false documents, fake passports, suspicion of human trafficking, suspicion of cyber crime, the foreigner being listed on an international "wanted list", invalid visa - or carrying no visa at all -, and for (potentially) disturbing the public order.

Syamsi explained that Indonesia's Immigration Office cooperates with many sides - including Interpol and foreign governments - to prevent the wrong foreign people from entering Indonesia.

When we take a look at the list of 562 foreigners that were denied access at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport so far in 2017, then we can conclude that most are Asians, especially originating from developing countries. A total of 185 came from Bangladesh, 68 from China, 62 from India, 26 from Morocco, and 26 from Pakistan.
