  • External Debt of Indonesia Grew 7.4 Percent in February 2014

    Indonesia’s external debt in February 2014 amounted to USD $272.1 billion, thus having increased 7.4 percent (year-on-year) from the same month a year earlier. Outstanding external debt as of end-February 2014 consisted of public sector debt (USD $129.0 billion) and private sector debt (USD $143.1 billion). The growth pace of Indonesia's external debt in February 2014 was slightly higher than the 7.2 percent (yoy) growth pace recorded in January 2014.   • Official Release: Indonesia's Economic Growth Slowed to 5.78% in 2013

    On Wednesday (05/02), Indonesia's official gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate for 2013 was released. According to Statistics Indonesia, Indonesia's economy expanded 5.78 percent in 2013, thus slowing - for the third consecutive year - from the 6.2 percentage growth in 2012 and 6.5 percentage growth in 2011. All sectors of the Indonesian economy posted growth in 2013: highest was the transport and communications sector (+10.2 percent) and lowest was mining and extracting (+1.3 percent).
