It is the third consecutive year BCA tops the ranking.

    The latest survey conducted by Kantar Worldpanel, an international research firm that investigates consumers' purchasing behavior, confirms that Indomie remained the top brand in Indonesia (as it has been for - at least - the past five years). Indomie is Indonesia's most famous instant noodle brand, offering a rich amount of flavor variations to Indonesian consumers. Instant noodles are an important product for the Indonesian consumer because another instant noodle brand - Mie Sedaap - is also among the top three of favorite brands in Indonesia.

  • Beatles Drummer Ringo Starr Sues Indonesian Firm over 'Ringgo Star' Brand

    Legendary pop star Ringo Starr was not amused when he learned that Indonesian company Asia Global Media - a Jakarta based information technology and services firm - registered a brand name at the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP) that is very similar to his own name. Former Beatles drummer Richard Starkey, known professionally as Ringo Starr, filed a lawsuit at the Commercial Court in Central Jakarta in February 2016 over the use of the 'Ringgo Star' brand that was registered by Asia Global Media.

  • IKEA Loses Court Battles over Brand Name in Indonesia

    Based on the decision of the Jakarta Commercial Court and the Indonesian Supreme Court (after an appeal), the world's largest furniture retailer IKEA fails to own the right to use its brand name in Indonesia as Surabaya-based furniture company Ratania Khatulistiwa claimed the trademark for its acronym for Intan Khatulistiwa Esa Abadi. Although Inter IKEA System had registered the trademark "IKEA" with the Indonesian directorate-general of intellectual property both in 2006 and in 2010, Ratania Khatulistiwa successfully claimed that the global furniture giant had not used the trademark for commercial purposes for three consecutive years.
